2019-1-UK01-KA102-061281
The goal of the project was to provide 10-days training course (+4 days cultural program) in one of the most well-known tourist sites in Braga, Portugal. For the successful implementation of the practical activities, preliminary pedagogical and cultural preparation and Portuguese language training with tourist orientation was provided. Europass mobility document was issued for participants’ stay abroad.
The main expected effect on the project target group was increased professional competence as a result of the work-based learning.
The scope of the project was 55 students who underwent pretraining and improved their Portuguese language skills. A group of 50 students went to mobility in Portugal. Through the implementation of practical tasks, they supplemented their knowledge with new methods and approaches, developed their skills significantly and learnt new ones. Feedback from mentors allowed continuous improvement of the learning process and maximized the effect of the practice. Practice at tourist sites allowed students to make a parallel between English and Portuguese business realities. They had the opportunity to learn a lot of specific knowledge and skills that once implemented into practice are forgotten much harder. Other additional effects on the participants were:
- improved foreign language competencies;
- raised cultural awareness and improved intercultural skills;
- increased self-confidence;
- willingness to participate again in such initiatives;
- new meetings and contacts.
Successful mobility provided the participants with relevant experience, built work habits and increased the employability, including the self-employment opportunities, of the individuals, joining the project.
